Mens Jeans: Picking the Right Style | Fashion Trends Men

Not too long ago, men’s jeans were boring and straightforward. Since then there has been an explosion of styles and brands, which makes jeans the new “it” trend for mens fashion. While the new styles are welcome news for men who are looking for a style edge, it also make it difficult for some men to pick the right style. Picking the right style is as more important if not more important than the fabric of the jean itself! We’ll go the basic for those uninformed men trying to get informed on the matter.

Straight Cut JeansThe jeans fits the thigh size and isn’t going any narrower to the ankle. It does not show any particular shape of the body so it is generally well suited for everyone. This is the “standard” jean for everyone.

Bootcut Jeans

It fits through the knee and subtly becomes wider at the end of the jeans. As the name implies, it’s great for wearing boots or larger shoes. It’s a great style that suits everyone and is considered slightly more fashionable than Straight.

Slim fit Jeans

These fit the legs from the thigh through the knee and goes straight to the ankle. It suits slim guys that don’t have big legs but don’t want it to be very tight. This is great for the hipster style of skinny jeans without actually wearing skinny jeans

Skinny Jeans

Just like the name, the jeans fits the legs from thigh, knee through the ankle. It looks good on slim guys with slim legs, and its considered a difficult style to pull off.

If you’re a conservative person or your style is simple, straight jeans are the best bet for you. It does not cost you much. These jeans are very versatile. In fact, you can wear straight cut jeans with basically any tops out there. The beauty of the jeans is the look never goes old and simply hard to go wrong. The downside is that this style is not considered fashion forward. We recommend adding bootcut to your straight jeans wardrobe to add some element of fashion even if you’re into the simplistic look.

If you’re fashion forward or trying to stay with the latest fashion trend, then look into Skinny Jeans. If you have the physique, skinny jeans will bring a lot of positive glances. The bad news is that skinny jeans are difficult to pull off depending on your body type. The good news is that skinny jeans doesn’t have to be extreme, i.e. stick to your skin tightly like glue. The key is for you to pick the right size for this type of jeans. Try out as many jeans as possible. Slim fit jeans are a good compromise if you don’t want to go all the way with skinny jeans.

Washes and colors have been trendy. We’ll discuss some of the classic/traditional style that will never go old. Then we’ll discuss recent stylized trends in washs and colors.

Classic Style

  1. Faded Blue Jeans. It recently became a trend among both men and women.  It is perfect to be combined with your favorite t-shirts. You can also throw on your leather jacket to emphasize your style.
  2. Classic Blue Jeans. It is one of the most popular types of jeans. Blue really represents jeans, and it is very versatile since you can wear it with any piece of clothing.
  3. Dark Color Jeans. Since it is in dark colors, it surely will match any tops and outers worn in any colors.

Trendy Style

  1. Raw Denim. These denims are left unwashed after production, which gives the jean a darker look that will fade naturally. This create a natural distressed look that is becoming the most sought after. Currently raw denim is the “it” fashion.
  2. Acid Wash. This wash is a very aggressive style that people should venture slowly into. The look has a retro-feel to it that is coming back strongly.
  3. Stonewashed. This wash provides a faded, worn appearance that gives a moderate level of distressed. Stonewashed is more conservative than the other two washes and should be a key staple in any men’s jeans wardrobe.
